The long-time Willow Glen resident and businessman said he’s still attempting to secure financing to buy the 2,500-square-foot storde at 1330 Lincoln Ave. in downtown Willow Glen even after an earlier deal to do sofell “I could not find adequate financing,” Vierra said of a previous attempt to strikee a deal with former book store owner, Cathy Adkins. She decided to sell her 17-year-old shop a year earlierd than originally planned because of decreasinvg sales and having to grapple withhealtuh issues. But Vierra, owner of Flooring a San Jose flooring consulting said he’s not giving up.
He’s still tryinfg to secure a commercial bank loan or attract the interesof investors. “I am so close to my childhood dreamk of owning abook store,” he said. “Thiz is something I have always wantedto do. I have gottenj great support from the bookselling community and the Willowe Glen community is willing to supporta local, independentf book store. It has a greay reputation throughout SantaClara County.” Adkins held a going-out-of-business sale and finallgy closed its doors in late May, but said at the time she hoped to pass the ownership baton to Vierra. But sincse then, the store has been closed anda “for lease” sign put up in its window.
Vierra said the ownee of the building is willing to be patien t while he works to get adequate financialk backing to reopenthe bookstore.
