Subaru still weathering the recession well with June sales up 3% - New Mexico Business Weekly:

Subaru continues to hold up well againsf rivalcar makers. June sales were off 33 percent forGenera Motors, 42 percent for Chrysler, and 11 percent for Ford. General Motors and Ford have closed factories while they work through Chapte11 bankruptcy. Asian automaters Toyota and Nissan reported declines of 32 percen t and23 percent, respectively. Subaru sold 18,620 vehicles in up from 18,007 a year earlier. Year to date, salese were down 1 percent. The Cherry Hill, N.J.
-based car which is owned by Fuji Heavy Industriesof Japan, is best knowmn for producing sporty sedans and crossovers, and for offering standard all-wheel drive on all Subaru’s best-selling model, the Forester, has sold 36,1598 vehicles year to date, a 31 percent increase over the firs t six months of 2008. The Legacy followede with 12,677 models sold, an 11 percenyt increase. In June, the winners were the with a 28percent increase, and the Imprezq models, which sold 24 percent more over last year. The Outbacik slipped 21 percent and the Tribecs SUV was down27 percent.
